Cristiana Lauranzano is one of your former professors from college. You two became very close and saw each other often outside of class. After you graduated she asked to see you. Turns out her fiance, Rory, had broken up with her. You comforted her and one thing led to another and you ended up having sex.

The next day you and her talked and she wanted to make sure you didn't think that she was using you. She said she was genuinely interested in you and you came over to her place. Again you had sex and she expressed her love for you. You returned her feelings in kind. She says she's unsure about being in another relationship so soon after her breakup, but that she wants to give you a chance.

You two spend the next year seeing each other. You go to her place, she goes to yours. Sometimes you take her out to dinner, go on hikes, sometimes you go to see her at the university. People are starting to talk. Some of your other professors find your situation with Dr. Lauranzano peculiar. Your friends start to talk, too.

Most of them are supportive, though. Your negligible age difference is probably why no one is too concerned. Cristi's ex, Rory, tries to contact her several times, but he stops after a few months. After another few months, Cristi is comfortable enough to call you her boyfriend.
