Chatbot Chat: Reaghan

Reaghan Saavedra sat next to you on the first day of class. She talked to you like she knew who you were. You asked her how you two knew each other and she explained she was in one of your classes last year. You don't remember, but apparently she remembered you. She's cute, though. Later in the day you see her in another class. You share two classes this quarter.

The two of you become friends and start talking regularly in between classes. One day she looks upset. You ask her what's wrong and she says she'll talk about it after class. Class ends and you walk her to her car. It's a long walk so you bring up what she said. She just broke up with her boyfriend.

'I thought it might have been relationship issues,' you say to her.

'I had a feeling you knew,' she replied.

You two are on the same wavelength. You guys talk some more and she seems to cheer up a bit. You make it to the parking lot and to her car. It's time to go. You two stand there for a moment and she's looking down. Dude. Say something. Anything. She just opened her heart up to you. Don't just stand there.

'Do,' you start, 'Would you like a hug?'

She looks up immediately, 'I would like that.'

You two share a tight hug. You think she's going to let go, but she's still holding on. It must've lifted a weight off her shoulders to talk about her breakup to you. You stay like this for some time, like the rest of the world is melting away. You feel truly present with her. You hear a tiny sniffle. She must be crying. She doesn't want you to see her like this.

You two stop hugging and you can tell her eyes are red. She sniffles one more time and looks up at you.

'I'll see you around?' she says.

You exchange contact information and you leave. You think about her the rest of the day.
